🌴 Best Beaches in Cabo San Lucas (Right From the Cruise Port!)
One thing we love about cruise days: you can step off the ship and be in a whole new world — sun on your face, ocean air, and the freedom to explore at your own pace. Cabo San Lucas is perfect for that vibe. From the cruise port, you’re steps (or a fun little boat ride) away from some of the most iconic beaches in Baja.
Whether you're in the mood for a chill swim, a sandy stroll, fresh ceviche, or postcard-worthy photos, here are the top beaches in Cabo that you can easily visit on foot or with a short water taxi ride.

🏖️ Medano Beach
Walking distance: ~20–30 minutes from the cruise port (or a short water taxi ride)
Vibe: Lively, swimmable, active
Medano Beach is the main beach in Cabo, and for good reason — soft sand, calm swimming water, and endless food spots right on the beach. Think walking through the marina, grabbing a snack from a vendor on the way, then kicking off your sandals and diving into that gorgeous turquoise water.
What to do at Medano Beach
-
Swim (this is one of the safe swim beaches!)
 -
Snack or grab drinks with your feet in the sand
 -
People-watch and stroll the shoreline
 -
Rent kayaks or paddleboards if you're feeling adventurous

Trekking Pawn Tip: Walk one direction, then water-taxi back to the port — best of both worlds.
🐚 Playa El Corsario (aka Cannery Beach)
Walking distance: ~8 minutes from the cruise tender dock
Vibe: Close, quiet, and local feeling
If you want instant beach time without trekking far, this is your spot. Playa El Corsario is a small, lesser-known beach near the old cannery, making it perfect for a peaceful moment by the water before continuing your day of exploring markets and marina life.
What to do here
-
Quick dip
 -
Sit, relax, and enjoy the Sea of Cortez views
 -
Sip a drink and watch the fishing activity nearby

Trekking Pawn Tip: Bring water or grab a drink nearby first — it’s simple and less commercial here (which we love).
💙🐬 Lover’s Beach (Playa del Amor)
Water taxi required: ~5–10 minute ride
Vibe: Dramatic, iconic, and must-see
You’ve seen this one in travel magazines — dramatic cliffs, golden sand, and the famous Arch of Cabo towering nearby. Reaching Lover’s Beach is an adventure on its own: hop in a water taxi from the marina and ride past sea lions and striking rock formations.
What to do here
-
Take those famous Cabo photos
 -
Walk the sand between towering rocks
 -
Dip in the water (swimmable only on the Lover’s Beach side — the opposite Pacific side, Divorce Beach, is NOT safe for swimming)

Trekking Pawn Tip: Go early or later in your port day for fewer people and dreamy lighting.

Sea lions ✔️
 -

 -

Walk or boat back, grab a final snack near the marina, then tender back with sandy feet and full hearts. 🐾❤️
Cabo really gives you that “choose your adventure” energy — beach relaxation, local life, fresh seafood, stunning rock formations, and markets all within a few walkable miles. Whether we take the water taxi first thing or reward ourselves after exploring, we know one thing: sand time will happen. 😎
Next stop, delicious food — because exploring always makes us hungry. Stay tuned for our food hunt post! 🌮🐟🔥
