Embarking on the NCL Getaway: Our First Impression

Ahoy, fellow travelers! We recently embarked on the Norwegian Cruise Line's (NCL) Getaway, and what an adventure it has been so far. From the moment we stepped aboard, the ship's vibrant energy and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for an unforgettable journey.​

First Impressions and Exploration

Upon boarding, our excitement led us to explore the ship's many offerings. The Getaway boasts 18 decks, with 14 accessible to passengers, housing a myriad of amenities and activities. We were particularly impressed by the 27 dining options and 22 bars and lounges available . The layout felt familiar, reminiscent of our previous voyage on the NCL Encore to Alaska. Welcome Aboard Event

Our evening kicked off with the "Welcome Aboard" event, where Cruise Director Emma greeted all guests with infectious enthusiasm. She highlighted the ship's diverse entertainment lineup, including game shows, Broadway-style performances, and a variety of activities designed to cater to all interests. Two comedians also graced the stage, offering a sneak peek into the humor and laughter we could anticipate throughout the week.​




Discovering Unique Spaces

One distinctive feature of the Getaway is the Illusionarium, a venue dedicated to intimate shows and interactive experiences. We learned that this space would host escape room-style card games and smaller performances, adding a unique twist to our cruise experience. This was a departure from the Encore, showcasing NCL's commitment to offering varied and innovative entertainment options across their fleet.​




Culinary Delights Await

With numerous specialty dining venues on board, our taste buds are in for a treat. From seafood feasts at Ocean Blue to the sizzling flavors of Teppanyaki, there's something to satisfy every craving. We're particularly excited to dine at Moderno Churrascaria, the Brazilian steakhouse, and experience the diverse culinary journey the Getaway promises .​ (Explore and book now!)
